Amy did all this while planting and maintaining gardens for family and friends in her spare time. After graduating from Clark State with two Associate’s Degrees in the horticulture field she moved to Charlottesville Virginia to accept a position as a landscape gardener for the City of Charlottesville Parks Department. After familiarizing herself with the area and the exciting new plant material available in zone 7, Amy developed a love for the Piedmont area and began to see unique opportunities for fine gardening endeavors.
Amy then worked as a certified horticulturist for LH Gardens where she perfected her fine gardening techniques under the direction of the fabulous Leslie Harris. After gaining that valuable experience she felt confident and prepared to launch her own fine gardening firm.
Dyer Gardens was established in October of 2018 and is growing more quickly than Amy could have imagined. This only solidified her hunch about the need for fantastic and personable gardeners in the area.
